    Hi

Can you have an WPQR which is taken from 1554.1 2000 and the WPS written from it which is taken from 200 but is stated as been 1554.1 2011

That all depends on how it was qualified. If it was a prequalified procedure, and the materials, joint & consumables still meet the approvals for prequaled procedures, it is fine.

What you would do, is use the 2000 PQR to form the WPS, but the variables for the new WPS would be that of 2011. Don’t change the PQR to show it complies to 2011 edition, but make the WPS Revision 1.

ie; WPS 123 – Rev 1. Then have a note down the bottom stating “Revision 1 – Alterations made to essential variables to reflect 2011 edition of AS/NZS 1554.1.”

I know they changed the variables on the consumables without me digging to deep the wire used in the 2000 pqr and the wire used in the 2011 wps is ESAB Dualshield AWS A5.20 / E71T-1
