Hi, I am a newbie and looking for advice on what my current qualifications are equivalent to in Oz..
– NVQ Level 3 fabrication and welding
– NVQ Level 3 Machining (milling and turning)
In the past year Ive done a City and Guilds advanced welding course and C&G advanced milling which state as a skills test Is this course the equivalent of having a welding code/ milling cert?
– If not do I get my codes here in UK or wait till I move across?
– Which codes would get me into the mines?
– Can you get work in the mines without a code?
– Are NDT certs any use when applying to be a welder? I.e im qualified to test UT and MP
UT up to 2 plate.
– Do my current quals actually qualify me to weld anything down under?
Been in a workshop now doing fab, CNC machining and welding for about seven to eight years but
Looking to specialise more in the welding side of things. With small experience in MMA but mostly thin plate MIG and TIG will anyone employ me in the mines where I imagine its all heavy plate and pipe thats done
?
Any help info would be massively appreciated guys!
