hello all
Please can someone clear a query i have about inspecting fillet welds to 1554.1. do you need the WPS in order to determine acceptability of leg lengths and throat thickness of welds when inspecting to 1554.1. if not how do you determine acceptable values.
shouting out to you 3.1 CSWIP inspectors out there 🙂
regards
The fabrication drawings will dictate the leg length of the fillet welds.
It is a requirement of AS/NZS 1554 series that a qualified PQR & WPS be used. This qualifies all single pass fillets up to that of the weld procedure, or above that qualified for multi-pass.
Thanks for your reply
