Pathway to AS1796 Welding Certificates

The training pathway to achieving an AS1796 requires either a Certificate 3 in Engineering, two years experience, or to be an indentured tradesperson.

There are then both theory and practical courses to take before completing your exams to achieve endorsement by the Australian Welding Institute.

Note: Welding Process Technology, Welding Metallurgy, Weld Testing and Inspection / Paper A is the same content for Welding Supervision AS1796/2214 and Welding Inspection and is only required to be completed once.
