Back issues

Twenty five volumes carried a page of their own on the previous site, and all twenty five are listed below. Volumes 26 and 27 exist as documents but never had a page, so they are listed separately.

The dates recorded against volumes 1 to 23 on the old site are all within a fortnight in July 2015, which is when the back catalogue was uploaded rather than when the issues were written. Rather than present upload dates as issue dates, the list is ordered by volume number and no date is claimed.

Why the individual pages are gone

Each back issue had its own page on the previous site, and the whole content of that page was a document viewer and a download link. Several of the viewers no longer worked. Twenty five pages carrying four words each is worse for a reader than one page carrying twenty five downloads, and it is worse in search, because twenty five near identical thin pages compete with each other.

Every one of those old addresses now redirects here, so an old link or bookmark still reaches the issue it was pointing at, one step away.

Rights

WeldED carried third party articles as well as AWI’s own. Where an issue reproduces third party material, the rights remain with whoever wrote it. Anyone who believes an issue reproduces their work without permission should contact AWI through the contact page and it will be taken down while the question is settled.

Is WeldED still published?

Not on this cadence. The technical material that used to arrive in a bulletin now sits in the Job Knowledge library and the standards library, where it can be found by somebody looking for the topic rather than by somebody who happened to keep the right email.
